Opening the Word Ministry

I John 3:11-24 This is the beginning of applying the lavish love of the first part of this chapter. Here we deal with Love and Hate. Here we see that words are not enough. Our Life in Christ is shown not in what we say we are but how we live particularly with other Christians.

This passage is I John 3:1-10 and it deal with The
Love God has LAVISHED on us. It also deals with the lifestyle issues of the
Christian Life. I am not a Christian because I say I am but because I walk a
lifestyle of obedience to Jesus. This life style is seen particularly when I
have committed an act of sin. A sinner goes on sinning a Christian repents and
by the power of the Holy Spirit continues to walk in obedience learning how to
avoid sin and be more like Jesus.

Today we continue in 1 John with  I John 2:18-29 It is the 5^th in a series of how to KNOW we are the children of God. It is about Discernment. The need to read the times and to be led by the Spirit to see right from wrong before it is revealed to the world at large. The first question to ask about a person or organization is “what do they believe about Jesus?” This will tells us if they are truly Christian or not.

This sermon I John 2:7-17 is about loving our
fellow Christians and learning to be the people of God. This is more of the ways
in which we can KNOW we are the Children of God. This assurance is necessary to
our Christian life so that we do not become discouraged as we are involved with
the everyday living out of our relationship with Jesus.

This sermon is on KNOWING that we Know that we have a personal relationship with Jesus. We have that knowledge because we OBEY His commands. This is I John 2:3-6.

This is I John 1:5-10 Walking in the Light.

The simple fact is that living for Jesus is not complicated it is however a daily lifestyle. Jesus is the Light and we need to walk daily in a relationship with Him. We are not sinners for that talks about a continuing habit. Rather we are Christians that sometimes sin.

Since the blood of animals was able to forgive sin HOW MUCH more will the Blood of Jesus forgive not only the act but the guilt or sense of sin.
